Vision: - M.E.F.P Memorial Skate Park
There is something deeply special about the place we call home. San Carlos Park / Three Oaks is more than streets and neighborhoods—it is families, friendships, shared struggles, and shared hope. It is children riding bikes at dusk, parents cheering from the sidelines, and neighbors who show up when it matters most. As your pastors and fellow residents, we want you to know how grateful we are to live, serve, and grow alongside you.
Because we love this community, we are stepping forward in faith to build a skate park in the heart of San Carlos Park—a place dedicated to the health and betterment of our youth. This will not simply be concrete and ramps. It will be a safe, supervised space where kids and teens can gather, build friendships, and find belonging. A place where faith is encouraged, character is shaped, and personal growth is realized.
Communities across the country have seen that well-designed skate parks do more than provide recreation—they strengthen neighborhoods. Studies from municipalities that have introduced skate parks show reductions in juvenile nuisance complaints and vandalism ranging from 20–40% in surrounding areas. When young people have a positive, designated place to gather, crime decreases and community engagement increases. Recreation becomes prevention.
This vision is also about supporting parents. In a world filled with distractions and pressures, families are searching for safe environments where their children can belong. A skate park offers that—a place where young people are seen, mentored, and encouraged instead of wandering without direction. When youth feel connected, they flourish. When they flourish, families are strengthened. And when families are strengthened, communities thrive.
We cannot speak of this dream without honoring Malachi. At just 22 years old, he carried a heart for this community and its youth. He believed deeply that young people needed a place of belonging—a place where faith, friendship, and purpose could grow. Though his life was tragically cut short, his legacy of faith continues to inspire us. This skate park stands as a testament to his desire to see hearts changed and lives restored.
Thank you for being the kind of community that cares. Together, we can build something that blesses generations to come—something rooted in faith, hope, and love.
With gratitude and hope,
